I can’t believe that it is this time of the year already. Where has 2022 gone?

There have been days that have felt like months and then there have been days that have felt like seconds and yet, every year, the time seems to pass by faster.

I always like to think that I am an early shopper but in reality, I wait until November to start and usually don’t finish until right before Christmas. As my kids get older, I find that it is harder and harder to shop for them. Anyone else?

In today’s blog post, we are going to talk about gifts that you should give beginner bloggers. These are gifts that they are truly going to want and use and will help them in their creative journey as a blogger.

THE GIFT THAT CHANGED MY BLOGGING

At the beginning of my blogging journey, I was doing it from an old Apple computer that we bought from someone who was moving. We had recently moved to Alberta and didn’t bring much with us from Ontario and so when I started blogging, I was using this little desktop computer to do all my work.

I will admit, I am not a huge fan of Apple products. That sentence alone may lose me some followers but that is my truth. It was a learning curve to work this old computer and it was so extremely slow that getting anything done was difficult.

I would complain often to my husband and he would just listen to me and nod his head. Secretly he had a gift in mind that would help me with blogging.

As a Christmas gift one year, he bought me a brand-new laptop. I had no idea and I was immediately blown away by how thoughtful the gift was. I am sure he didn’t want to hear me complain anymore but it helped me to speed up the blogging process. This gift also showed me that he truly did want me to succeed as a blogger and was behind me one hundred percent.

Now I am not saying that you need to buy someone a laptop to show them that you support them but this gift really meant a lot to me as a beginner blogger. So let’s dive right into this gift guide so that you can choose a gift that is going to impact your blogger at home.

BEGINNER BLOGGERS GIFT GUIDE FOR 2022

I absolutely LOVE gift giving. I love picking out gifts for others and hoping that they are going to be as excited about what I got them as I was. It is something that brings me great joy and I hope that whether you struggle with gift-giving or you love doing it like me, this list will help you to decide what to get that blogger in your life.

Laptop

Let’s start with the biggest gift idea on this list. There are so many different options when it comes to a laptop and so many different price ranges that you can choose from. In May, I bought my own laptop with a business loan that I received. It took me weeks to narrow down what I was looking for.

What was important to me as a content creator was a big screen (none of these 14” or smaller screens). That was the number one thing that I was looking for in a laptop. I wanted a big screen so that I could have multiple windows open at once and not feel like I was squinting to see them.

The laptop that I chose and that I absolutely love is the Asus Vivobook 16X OLED. This computer is incredible and does so much that honestly, I haven’t even started to look at yet.

The OLED screen makes all the colours pop.

The 16” screen gives me room for everything I need to do.

I can split the screen between different windows.

I am incredibly happy with this purchase and recommend it to everyone.

Blogging Planner

Canva membership

Yes, you can certainly use the free version that Canva has to offer but as a blogger, you are creating graphics for multiple different platforms and Canva Pro gives you the ability to easily resize your graphics if you need to.

Giant calendar

I am a visual person and writing things out is part of my creative purpose. Using a giant desk calendar and hanging it on the wall helps me to plan out my content. You can purchase an undated wall calendar from Walmart.

If you don’t want to waste all of the paper, you can also purchase an erasable giant calendar and put that on your wall as well.

Coloured pens

When it comes to creating my content and mapping it out, I love to have different coloured pens to break down the content more visually. This helps me to look at my giant calendar and know what content is being shared and when.

Website template

If you have someone who is ready to start a blog but doesn’t yet have their website set up, purchasing a website template is a great way to make their blog stand out even more.

I love using Etsy to find beautiful website templates and support small creatives. My website is a website template that I purchased from Presenti Box. My other website template that is used for Empoword Blogging was purchased from Blog Pixie.

I absolutely love the style of both of these creatives. You can find website templates for many different platforms. Just make sure that when you are purchasing a template that it is for the correct platform.

Blogging courses

There are many different blogging courses out there. You can take a self-directed course or you can do 1:1 coaching. I do offer 1:1 coaching to help women start their blogs. This is a great way to get the beginner blogger to know all of the different pieces of blogging.

Working with Samantha through the Blogology course has truly been a gift. Sam offers a blogging course like no other. She teaches the basics of building a successful blog and takes it to another level by addressing marketing aspects and analytics that I never would have considered.

Graphic templates

As bloggers, we create a lot of graphics. That means that purchasing graphic templates is a great way to speed up the process. Not everyone loves to create graphics either and this is a great way to free up their time and allow them to focus on other aspects of blogging that they actually enjoy doing.

Again, I love Etsy for purchasing templates. A few of my favourite creatives on Etsy for templates are Kiki Creative Studio, Digi Template Shop, Content Design, and Thirty One Palms Studio.

Laptop bag

This is the perfect way to wrap the laptop that you are also buying for that new blogger. For my birthday, my husband bought me a new laptop bag and I have had so many compliments on it. I absolutely love it.

It makes me feel glamorous and powerful when I walk around with it.

Candle

A fun candle is a great way to spruce up the working area of a blogger. There are so many different ideas that you can use when it comes to purchasing a candle.

You can buy one with a funny saying on it.

You can buy one that is in their favourite scent.

You can buy one that comes in a motivational scent.

Lap desk

If your blogger is anything like me, we take our laptops all over the house to get some of our work done. I am currently writing this blog post in my bed. A lap desk is a great way to be able to use your laptop in many different areas of your home and still be comfortable working.

Membership to a coworking space

This is what I have on my Christmas list. I want to be able to escape from my house once or twice a month and get some time to fully focus on my blog and the content that I am creating.

A coworking space is a great way to have some space to change up your routine and get some creative juices flowing.

Wireless mouse

I love my laptop but having to use the finger pad all the time is a pain. Having a good mouse that you can use and take with you is a fantastic gift idea.

Pinterest course

Pinterest is a vital tool for any blogger and knowing how to use it is important. A Pinterest course is going to be the gift that keeps on giving.

Subscription to keyword research tool

Oh, the keyword research tools. A blogger’s best friend. There are so many different options out there. A couple of my favourite ones are Keyword Chef, Ubersuggest by Neil Patel, and Semrush.

Social media content scheduler

Some days there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in a day. Giving the gift of a social media content scheduler is a great way to free up some time for your blogger. This will allow them to schedule their content in advance so they can plan out their content.

I have used a few in my time as a blogger but so far my favourite one that I have used is Social Pilot. I currently use this social media content scheduler and it allows me to schedule my content so that I can just show up and engage.

Email marketing platform

Email marketing is just another tool that every blogger should have in their tool belt. I absolutely love and use Flodesk. It is easy to use and makes beautiful workflows and email newsletters.
